Entegrus Powerlines, a progressive company dedicated to providing the highest level of service and a positive work environment, requires a GIS Analyst for its Chatham office. Reporting to the GIS Supervisor, the GIS Analyst performs spatial analysis and develops operational maps using ESRI’s utility network.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Full lifecycle tracking of asset data, inspection records and other corporate data in the GIS.
- Develop and maintain data in ESRI’s utility network and associated diagrams.
- Collect and process data as required from internal and external sources (GPS records, LiDAR, drone imagery, etc.).
- Perform advanced geo-processing techniques using appropriate tools to provide insights from GIS data (interactive, model builder, python, R, etc.).
- Provide statistics gathered from GIS to departments as requested.
- Recommend future enhancements to the GIS.
- Provide technical support for other GIS users.
- Train new GIS users on the use, capabilities and limitations of the system.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: A GIS-related college diploma with direct experience with ESRI software.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years job-related experience.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of the design and layout of electrical distribution systems.
- Skills: Must have excellent computer skills and proficiency with ESRI desktop and cloud products. Proficiency with the ESRI utility network and its diagram functionality is an asset. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills along with analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Other: Must possess and maintain a valid river’s Licence with a clean driver’s abstract. Due to confidentiality requirements consistent with the environment in which this position operates, the successful candidate will also be required to furnish an original and current Police Information Search (criminal reference check) prior to commencement of employment.
This position is a full-time union position with compensation based on the IBEW Collective Agreement. Current hours of work are from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.
Compensation: $32.14 - $45.92 per hour as per the applicable Collective Agreement, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
