Entegrus Transmission – CASO Trail / Entegrus Corridor

Supporting Safe and Responsible Use of the CASO Trail

The CASO Trail is a scenic, family-friendly route in the Ridgetown area, forming part of Chatham-Kent’s trail network and the Trans Canada Trail system. The trail stretches about 11 kilometres along the former Canada Southern Railway corridor, offering a space for walking, running, cycling, and enjoying nature in all seasons.

To help preserve the trail’s condition and ensure it remains safe and welcoming for everyone, Entegrus is proud to partner with the Municipality of Chatham-Kent and the Chatham-Kent Police Service in promoting responsible trail use.

Entegrus’ Role

Entegrus owns portions of the former rail corridor, including the section where the trail runs. While the Municipality of Chatham-Kent manages the trail itself, Entegrus works closely with municipal partners and law enforcement to help protect and maintain the corridor.

This collaboration includes:

  • Supporting public awareness about safe, permitted trail uses.
  • Helping monitor and address issues such as unauthorized vehicle use or dumping.
  • Coordinating with community partners to ensure the corridor remains a valued local asset.

As part of our ongoing commitment to community safety, Entegrus encourages everyone to respect the trail and its surroundings.

What’s Permitted on the Trail

The CASO Trail is intended for non-motorized recreation, including:

  • Walking and hiking
  • Running and cycling
  • Birding and nature observation

Motorized vehicles (such as ATVs or snowmobiles) and dumping are not permitted. These activities can damage the gravel surface, cause erosion, and create safety hazards for others.

What’s Permitted on the Entegrus Corridor

This is private property and not part of the trail system. No trespassing.

How You Can Help

Residents and visitors can support the trail’s care by:

  • Checking signage and maps before visiting to confirm permitted uses.
  • Reporting concerns such as ATVs, snowmobiles, dumping, or other prohibited activities through the Chatham-Kent Police Service online reporting tool.
  • Sharing information about responsible trail use with friends and neighbours.

By working together, we can help preserve this important community space for future generations.
