Auto-Reclosures
Our system contains equipment that can detect and interrupt momentary ‘faults’ (lightning, or a tree branch meeting a power line, for example). This is known as an auto reclosure. These auto-reclosures can help minimize power outages by automatically ‘redirecting’ power when a fault occurs and will automatically ‘reclose’ when the fault is cleared.
When this process occurs, residents may notice their lights dim or flicker. This may happen multiple times until the system is cleared of any faults.
Customer Equipment
Other reasons for lights to dim or flicker could include situations such as an inrush from appliances, loose wiring, or dimmer compatibility. Contact a Licensed Electrical Contractor if you suspect any of these reasons.
